Daily #6: Maya Basics

One of my goals for this year is to get comfortable working with Autodesk’s Maya since it’s such an industry standard. Conceptually, it’s similar to most other 3D graphics software packages so it seems like it’s just a matter of figuring out the Maya way of doing things. Eventually I want to be familiar with it’s scripting language MEL more than anything so that I can automate and procedurally generate geometry.

Today I went through the included tutorials to learn the basics of working with Maya. I don’t have much to show since gifs of me moving the camera around aren’t very exciting, so instead I’ll include a screenshot of a simplistic model I made.
